Introduce little ones and young children to Eucharistic Adoration in an age appropriate way. Join us for prayers, stories, and songs in the Saints John & Paul Grotto Chapel (below the main church) on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 10:00-10:30 AM. Then drop your little ones in our nursery for 30 minutes so you can spend some quiet time with the Lord.
Making Music Praying Twice is a parent-participation music education class for children from birth through age 5 that fosters the Catholic faith and enriches education and family life. The variety of music, movement, and color is excellent for brain development. The prayers, religious songs, and structure of the liturgical year introduce the basic prayers and vocabulary of Catholic life. Following each session, families are welcome to meet one another while children work on a coloring page, simple craft, or take-home project related to a saint or liturgical season. Sessions are held at Saints John & Paul.
Children entering Preschool through Kindergarten are introduced to foundational Bible stories, sing Bible-themed songs, and make Bible-themed crafts. This program is offered during the Sunday 9:00 AM Mass at Saints John & Paul. For the younger kids in this program, this often is a trial program to see if they will allow parents to drop them off. You are welcome to register and try it out for a few weeks to see if it works for your child.
Each week (September through April) during the 10:30 AM Mass at Good Samaritan, children will be called forward for Children's Liturgy of the Word. Volunteers will guide them to a classroom above the church for a lesson on the readings geared toward ages 3 to 3rd Grade. No registration is needed.
Deepening friendship with the Good Shepherd with the Montessori method.
We offer multiple sessions of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd at Good Samaritan. Because of the significant differences from traditional Faith Formation, it is best for children to begin in Level I, which is for children from 3-6 years old.
