“I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me. Whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.”
—Matthew 25:35-36; 40
The mission of the Ladies of Charity is to provide Vincentian leadership to women acting together against poverty. Their motto is, “To serve rather than be served in humility, simplicity, and charity.” This group assists local associations to continue, expand, and improve the spirit of their charitable work for all ages of men and women. The ladies visit parishioners who are in nursing homes and homebound, offer outreach to the poor in the community, and work in cooperation with St. Vincent de Paul Society. This ministry is open to women of our parish at the nomination of the pastor. One of their major projects is to provide coats for all kids within our local communities and schools who need warm outer wear for the winter months. For more information please call (724) 266-6565.
