EVENT OVERVIEW
The Men's Club, with help from the Fellowship Ministry, is sponsoring a Veterans Day remembrance on Monday, November 11th in the Upper CDC Center at the Saints John and Paul campus at Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish. Doors open at 6:00pm with the presentation starting at 7:00pm. This is open to all people, faiths, and ages. There is no charge. A light reception will be held before the presentation as well as time for Q&A afterward. Please join us as we honor our Veterans, then, now, and those to come. God bless America!
ABOUT OUT GUEST SPEAKER
Lee Goldman Kikel, whose book "Perseverance" gives a first-hand account of her father, Melvin Goldman's fight to survive in the ghetto and Auschwitz will give a presentation about her father's experience. With his home in Poland destroyed, his family torn apart, his health ruined, and nearly everyone he had ever known murdered in death camps, his story will be told through his letters and pictures - in his own words - a story of World War II you will never forget. We will never hear the full story of each life lost, and the incredible loss this gave to humanity, but we can give these people life again through stories.
MEMORABILIA FROM VETERANS
Along with this heartbreaking true story from World War II, we are asking that anyone with any memorabilia from any war and any branch of service, to bring it that day to the remembrance, to be displayed on the displayed tables to be viewed before and after the presentation. (You can bring your memorabilia home with you after the presentation, giving everyone attending a chance to view these historic artifacts, many that have never been seen before in presentations like these).
